The 4 Towers of Mindset Strategy

When we talk about developing a  "mindset strategy" we are really talking about making an identity shift in how we process information on a daily basis. We seek to permanently change not only the way we see the world around us but in essence, how we react to it. A shift in mindset is a shift in EVERYTHING that is your experience in this realm of existence. It may seem, then, that this shift you desire to make would be a daunting task. Well, it can and will be if that's the way to have already decided it will be.  But lets take a different approach and break this mindset thing down to it's simplest form - 4 pieces, nice and easy - Identity, Vibration, Flow and Course Correction.

With that said, here's a very high-level view of the 4 Towers of Mindset Strategy.

1. Identity

  Like everyone else on the planet, YOU have a story.  You tell this story everyday to everyone around you and stick to it day in and day out.  One rarely deviates from their story. It's one we've been telling others and ourselves for a very long time. We tell it with our words, actions and thoughts.  If I asked you what other people would say about you (yes, other people are also telling your story) you'd might not be so surprised that you are correct in their assumptions if you're being honest with yourself. You always have a way of getting right back to this story.  Whether you are "up" in life or "down" you find a way right back here, do you not?  You may change your state of mind from time to time but you always go back to your story.  It's human nature to need this consistency. Even if it's consistent garbage.  A new mindset heavily involves understanding your story and what about it would be advantageous to change.  WHO are YOU?


2. Vibration

Communication between individuals presents itself in the form of vibration.  We get our point across through first thought then action such as sound or movement with intent.  We pick up these vibrations from others and process the perceived intent and then decide immediately how we react. Our identity or story will have already provided us with a set of parameters on how we react to the world around us.  A sort of algorithm if you will.  You put in X and you get out Y.  Do you know how effectively you are communicating with yourself or the world around you?  Do you speak to others and yourself with respect and clarity?  Do you know there's a difference between talking and listening?  There are 3 types of communicators/listeners/learners in this world.  Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic.  They all have a specific way of communicating and listening.  Knowing how to present information in the proper manner depending on who is sitting across from you will put you light years ahead on the social spectrum.  If you're relationship with YOU is not centered then by default your relationship with anyone else cannot be.

3. Flow

Are you managing your life or creating it. Are you living every day or merely existing? On a daily basis we are faced with the task of making many decisions, often on the fly, both personally and professionally. These situations can easily stack up when we push aside the moments that quick reaction is necessary. We push them aside because we become confused and a confused mind always says "no". We are unable to make choices quickly because we cannot reconcile and measure them against our identity and vibration metrics because we simply have not taken the time to address those towers. Before long we feel we are in an insurmountable situation and start making decisions rashly just to get them out of the way and we all know what happens then. When you are clear with who you are and what you value (Identity) and you are aware of how your words both internally and externally effect you and those around you (vibration), now you have a clear base to be able to make better decisions in the moment because you know you have measured the outcome of that decision just by thinking about it with your new "lens". Now you have also gained the super-power of understanding your boundaries and can now clearly express them to those around you. It's ok to say "no". It's ok to remove those around you that do not support you in moving forwards but rather hold you back.

4. Course Corrections

If you are a jet flying at 500 mph and you go off course by just 10° for 2 hours you will be 175 miles off course! Your mind can travel much much faster than a jet so it's imperative that course corrections are made everyday to keep you laser-focused at all times. Changing your identity and laser-tuning your communication skills can be as easy or as hard as you want to make it. Consistency makes all the difference. That means constant reflection and self audit to measure our progress during the day against a set of intended goals. How do we do this? JOURNALING. Journaling is a way where we can look at all the things we did today that took us towards our goals and away from our goals in which we would need to implement changes for the following day. Reflection keeps us honest and enables us to pull positive lessons from what would otherwise have been a negative experience. Become comfortable with reflection and now you have the ability to go back as far as you want into your past and start pulling positives from even the most challenging experiences of your life thus far.

To Bring This All Together -

A change in your story can happen at any moment in time. You can decide that your current pattern of living is not what's best for you or your family and make the change today. But it takes looking at your identity, vibration, flow and course corrections. Take them on one at a time and be consistent. Change your identity NOT your state. Apply your new found tools to both your professional and personal life and watch those around you see the change, see the new person you have become. Change your story and the story people around you tell of you when you're not around.
